Palm Kernel Oil

Palm kernel oil is an edible plant oil derived from the kernel of the oil palm. The refined product when used for frying is popular due to its lack of cholesterol and trans fatty acids, both regarded as positive characteristics for health.

Sierra Leone was once a major exporter of palm kernel to Europe. This trade ceased many years ago. Goldtree intends to establish a palm oil refinery to refine, bleach, deodorise and fractionate palm oil to produce a range of downstream products for sale in the Sierra Leone and regional markets.
